automatic driving lessons are in higher demand as less and less people use a stick shift car. A car that is automatic is easier to use and allows the driver to focus more on the road and keep both hands on the steering wheel at all times. Manual cars sell for less in motor trade, probably due to the fact that they are in less demand. There are a few exceptions of course. Classic cars sell for more in motor trade whether they are manual or automatic.

In addition a manual car is preferred in a sports car and in off-road vehicles. Manual sports cars are sold for more in motor trade than automatic. A manual car allows the driver to have more control over the vehicle and especially how fast it goes. They can chose when to shift the gears up or down giving them more control. Manual cars also cost less in repairs than an automatic.

Automatic cars are also popular for women. There are more women who drive automatic vehicles than men. This might be because these are easier for women to control or maybe they just enjoy the convenience of it. They are especially popular for women under the age of 18.

Even though manual cars offer more versatility when driving, there are advantages to driving an automatic vehicle. One of course is as I stated before they give you the ability to focus more on your driving. They also make it easier to learn how to drive a car. When you drive an automatic car you don’t need to worry about learning how to switch gears, how to use a clutch or how the gears effect the operation of the vehicle. An automatic vehicle also is more fuel efficient than a manual vehicle. The fuel efficiency of a manual car depends on the skill of the driver.

I personally chose to drive an automatic car. I find that it is much easier to handle and gives me more control. As the demand for automatic cars rises it makes one wonder if manual cars will become obsolete.
