Transport Story Time

They say to have a new car ordered; we must pay a fee for it to be delivered from the factory. I say a price skip hire is easy enough to find. I just wanted to make sure the motor that was ordered is delivered in this new car. I am Sir Tom Gates personal assistant and am trying to find out what progress has been made with the order of his new car. After another hour on the phone I still have no answer to that important question.

Tom is most aggravated already that he couldn't find one already on the showroom floor. The color and features weren't a problem, everything else that was most important was impossible to get off the lot.

The instructor that he uses to teach him to play at racing his race car told him what to look for in a new luxury car. The size motor coupled with a particulartransmission was the best combination for mileage to fuel ratio on the highways. His driving instructor I am sure knows all there is to know about driving race cars, but I am not so convinced he knows the same about a new car. If he doesn't really know and we've gone to all of this trouble to get this motor in this car with everything else he told him to get, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes at their next lesson. Instructor can be hired and rehired in a heartbeat. The endless hours of phone conversations to get this new car ordered have really added up. I just hope my time was well spent, and this new car he expected it to be is what he wanted. Assistance can be readily expendable as well.

Delivery they tell me is going to take several more weeks. Seems we are in the middle of a crises with parts for the factory; this isn’t going to make Tom any happier. I will have to tell him but not today, today he is taking his race car driving test. The phone rings and its Tom about two hours out from the start of his test.

He’s celebrating his pass and after several hours in the bar is telling me he wants to know what progress we have made with his new car delivery. I guess now is as good a time as any to tell him, “Sir, they tell me they are having delays getting in parts and it will be another 6 weeks.”
