I am a 23 year old boy. I have yet to grow up. Yet to get a job. My mum does all that.
I visit the pub everyday, drinking. I party a lot with my friends, and I usually get really drunk.
One day one of my best friends, Chris said that I should learn how to drive a motorcycle. He said a lot of us were doing it. He used the were us to refer to the friends me and him had.
At first I thought driving a motorcycle was a bit silly. But after I thought about it, I thought it would make me look cool. So I decided to take his advice and started checking the driving lessons cost for young drivers.
I found a driving school that taught motorcycles for young drivers and I had started getting lessons everyday.
The instructor was very easy on me, maybe because he wanted to welcome the young drivers to driving, trying not to give them a hard time.
He told me to hop onto the motorcycle and so I did. I was not very used to the feeling of a motorcycle since I was used to a car.
Without turning on the motorcycle, the instructor pushed the motorcycle around from the back so I could get used to the motorcycle.
After that, the instructor told me to start the motorcycle. The motor was very loud. The motor was so loud, at times I could not hear the instructor.
I started riding the motorcycle from one side of the parking lot to the other. I was slowly getting my balance while on the motorcycle. The instructor told me the higher I sped up the more balance I would have, but he told me not to go so fast for safety purposes.
The instructor told me to drive around in circles around the car park. I was doing very well, but then a white Holden appeared at the entrance of the car park. At first I did not realised the car had been there, and I was looking around at the instructor and not what was in front and then I realised that the instructor was pointing in front of me, and I realised that a car had just appeared.
But it was too late, trying to avoid the car, I slipped on the motorcycle. The motor was still ringing in my ears, it was one of my most painful experiences.
I woke up in hospital. The doctor said that told me what happened, and I was lying in bed for almost 2 weeks. I was badly injured.
I had learnt a valuable lesson that day, that being cool was not the only thing in life, there are more important things.
